Student Admission Requirements and Procedures

The City College of Davao gives preference in the admission of student to bona fide senior high school graduates who are residents of Davao City, subject to the qualifications/rules of admissions as may be approved by the Board of Trustees; provided, however, that no students shall be denied admission to the College by reason of race, color, age, national origin, gender, marital status, religious belief or political affiliation.

Readiness Assessment

Upon submission of the documents for the application for admission, the student-applicant must undergo a readiness assessment which will be administered by the Guidance Counselor at the Guidance Office. This assessment is a just and equitable way to evaluate the student’s abilities and who are interested to enroll in the City College of Davao. The assessment ensures that all student-applicants are evaluated based on objective criteria and in accordance with the academic standards and objectives of the institution.

Application for Admission Process

Only those student-applicants who took the readiness assessment can proceed to the submission of application.The following are the steps for the submission:

  1. Fill out Student Registration Form
  2. Submit a photocopy of the following required documents:
    1. PSA Birth Certificate
    2. Senior High School Report Card (SF9) / Appropriate ALS Certificate (for ALS Graduate only)
    3. Certificate of Residency issued by the Office of the Barangay Chairman
    4. Income Tax Return (ITR) of both parents or Certificate of Low Income issued by the City Social Services and Development Office (combined annual net income of both parents must be stated)
    5. Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a Government Doctor
    6. Certificate of Belonging to Indigenous Peoples Group issued by the Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR) (if applicable)
  3. Submit the documents to the Admission Officer.

Result of Application for Admission

Student-applicants will be notified of the result of the application for admission assessment. Student-applicants who made it to the available slots (based on total points and quota system) will receive a Notice of Admission (NOA).

Enrollment Procedures

    Incoming First Year Student

    The student-applicant who received the Notice of Admission can proceed to the enrollment process. The following shall be the standard procedures for the enrollment of incoming first year students:

    1. Proceed to the Office of Admission for the encoding of the student information.
    2. Submit all the ORIGINAL copies of the following documents together with a copy of your NOA to the Office of the Registrar.
      • PSA Birth Certificate
      • 2x2 ID Picture with white background
      • Senior High School Report Card (SF9) / Appropriate ALS Certificate (for ALS Graduate only)
      • Certificate of Good Moral Character
      • Certificate of Residency issued by the Office of the Barangay Chairman
      • Income Tax Return (ITR) of both parents or Certificate of Low Income issued by the City Social Services and Development Office (combined annual net income of both parents must be stated)
      • Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a Government Doctor
      • Certificate of Belonging to Indigenous Peoples Group issued by the Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR) (if applicable)
    3. Proceed to the respective Program Heads for the advising of the student class schedules.
    4. Proceed to the Office of the Registrar for the encoding, printing and releasing of the Certificate of Registration.
    5. Proceed to the ICT Office for the processing of the Student Identification Card.
    6. Proceed to the Office of the Student Affairs Services for the validation of the Student ID and copy of the Schedule of Activities.
    7. End of the Enrollment Process.

    Old Students

    1. Proceed to the Office of Admission for the updating of the student information.
    2. Proceed to the respective Program Heads for the advising of the student class schedules.
    3. Proceed to the Office of the Registrar for the encoding, printing and releasing of the Certificate of Registration.
    4. Proceed to the Office of the Student Affairs Services for the validation of the Student ID.
    5. End of the Enrollment Process.

    Transferee Students

    The following shall be the standard procedures for the enrollment of transferee students:

    1. Proceed to the Office of Admission for the encoding of the student information.
    2. Submit all the ORIGINAL copies of the following documents together with a copy of your NOA to the Office of the Registrar.
      • PSA Birth Certificate
      • 2x2 ID Picture with white background
      • Official Transcript of Records
      • Certificate of Good Moral Character
      • Transfer Credentials
      • Certificate of Residency issued by the Office of the Barangay Chairman
      • Income Tax Return (ITR) of both parents or Certificate of Low Income issued by the City Social Services and Development Office (combined annual net income of both parents must be stated)
      • Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a Government Doctor
      • Certificate of Belonging to Indigenous Peoples Group issued by the Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR) (if applicable)
    3. Proceed to the respective Program Heads for evaluation/crediting of courses and advising of the student class schedules.
    4. Proceed to the Office of the Registrar for the encoding, printing and releasing of the Certificate of Registration.
    5. Proceed to the ICT Office for the processing of the Student Identification Card.
    6. Proceed to the Office of the Student Affairs Services for the validation of the Student ID and copy of the Schedule of Activities.
    7. End of the Enrollment Process.
